Adding a Line Item

In the order details portion of the page, you are able to add a line item to the order while you are adding an order or editing an order. When an order is in Add mode or Edit mode (see "Reviewing a Picking Order" for information on placing the page Add mode or Edit mode), the Add Detail icon that resides above the Details grid is activated:

1. To add a line item to the order, click the Add Detail icon.
2. A line item is added to the Details grid.

3. Line Number: numeric identifier for each order line. Depending on your division order settings, the line number is automatically generated by the system or must be manually entered. Please note that the line number cannot be duplicated within the order. The line number setting for a picking order is set at the Division form; see "Division Orders Options" for more information.
4. Item Number: item to be picked. Click the drop-down arrow in the Item field and select from the list of items in this division.
5. Ordered Qty: total ordered quantity of this line item; enter the amount in this field. If inventory is being allocated for this picking order, the ordered quantity is allocated to the order when the line item is saved.
6. Actual Qty: actual pick quantity of this line item; the actual quantity is added to the line item after the item is picked from inventory at the Pick Inventory form.
7. Comment: enter any comments about this item in this field.
8. To save the line item to the order, click the Save icon found to the right of the line item.

9. The line item is saved to the order. The Save and Cancel icons change to Edit, Delete, and Pick icons.

1. If the inventory is being allocated for this picking order, the ordered quantity is allocated to the order when the line item is saved.
2. If there is sufficient existing quantity to fulfill the line item, the item is added to the order.
3. If there is insufficient existing inventory to fulfill the item, the user is warned that there is insufficient quantity to fulfill the item; the maximum amount that can be allocated is displayed.

4. The user may override the warning and add this amount to the ordered quantity by clicking the OK button. The user is returned to the Picking Orders page and the item is saved to the order.
5. The user may adjust the ordered quantity to an amount that will not result in the item being over-allocated. To do so, the user must click the Cancel button to close the warning prompt. The user is returned to the Picking Orders page. The line item is still editable; it has not been saved to the order. The user may adjust the ordered quantity.
10. Once an item is saved to the order, you are able to:

• Edit the Line Item; see "Editing a Line Item"
• Delete the Line Item; see "Deleting a Line Item"
• Pick the Item; see "Picking an Item"

11. When you are finished working with the line item, click the Save icon for the order in the bottom right area of the page; this will save the line item change to the order. (If you click the Cancel icon , any changes made to the order are discarded.)
